Who is Joon Community?

Joon which in the Farsi language means “Dear” is something that my nana called me a lot growing up. Ever since founding SUSTAIN THE MAG from 2018-2024, we believed in caring for our communities and the power and necessity of a third space. As someone who doesn’t own a car or know how to drive one, it can be hard to be with a community in such a car-clustered nation. That is why we hold such a high emphasis on building out our Bus Babes program as we want to make sure everyone has a chance to create action and be one with their community.

Our Values

We strive to build the gap between feeling like you can’t do enough to creating real actional change that helps our planet and the people on it.

  • We host sustainable bus tours across the nation to teach folks more about public transit and bridging the gap between communities.

  • Whether IRL or digitally, we want to bring people together through events that are engaging.

  • We provide educational resources that focus on uplifting mutual aid across the nation that folks can take part in.
